The Marine Engineer ensures that equipment and installations on board are in good condition and ready to operate. The Marine Engineer will be reporting to the captain of the tugboat and the Technical Superintendent and will be representing our company and our policies.


As a Marine engineer you will perform effective and efficient maintenance and repairs of propulsion installations and auxiliary equipment to ensure the tug is available to provide services in a safe manner and to create a pleasant work environment.


You will advise on modification and/or improvement of technical equipment, which include ordering and use of technical items, bunkers, oils and water to control costs and manage the treatment and removal of waste.


You will ensure accurate maintenance logs, administration and reporting in order to comply with company and legal requirements and all necessary certificates are up to date and complete.


During towing operations, you will operate the winches. You will participate in safety drills on a regular basis. To increase safety and awareness, you will be reporting unsafe situations and actions.

What type of applicant are we looking for?


  • Nautical education
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Passion for the maritime industry
  • Good command of the English language, both oral and written.
  • Certificate Marine Engineer, in line with the designated vessel and its operational area
  • Valid medical and training certificates, in compliance with flag state requirements

  • Proven technical knowledge by experience as Engineer on a tugboat
  • Knowledge of Windows and good administration skills
  • Good communicational skills
  • Flexible and capable of withstanding stress
