The job

Working from the head office in Rotterdam, the Procurement team ensures that our colleagues in the various countries, offices and harbours get the best and most competitive conditions for the products and services they need, within efficient and reliable procurement processes.

As Buyer you will support the operational procurement processes, analyse spend and supplier performance. Based on your analyses you will autonomously initiate and realize procurement improvements. You will negotiate with suppliers and ensure the agreements made will be administered and kept up to date. You will report to the head of the procurement department.

The current development phase of our young organisation and the ambitions of the Procurement department offers you the unique opportunity to actively contribute to execution of the procurement strategy and the development of the department.

The procurement department mission

Together with her stakeholder’s procurement focusses on the standardization of products and services and improves the process of order and supply. While doing this we reduce risks and exploit supplier opportunities. From the central department we will show our added value by contracting global vendors that allow local ordering and implementing and control an efficient landscape for warehousing and logistics.

What type of applicant are we looking for?

  • A completed higher vocational education (Bachelor degree), preferably in procurement or logistics
  • At most 2 years relevant working experience in procurement
  • A certificate NEVI 1, or a relevant procurement minor
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
  • An excellent command of the Dutch and English language, both verbal and written
  • Affinity with technology and the maritime sector
  • A drive to get results
  • The ability to work independently
  • A good understanding of processes and excellent analytical skills
